I think everyone checked out for the summer... I know a few of us are playing Diablo, Season 7 just dropped.

I'm playing Stardew Valley, and not a whole lot else at the moment.
Waiting for StarCitizen 2.5 to drop. Should be next week some time, it's already on the PTU

Working mainly, but dabbled in witcher2 and 3.  Thinking about trying the revised Skyrim but meh, story replay is not my kind of thing.

The new game by the Ultima guy (and buddy of Roberts), is tempting, just for something new. I like that crafting seems to be a major component (apparently there are no npc retailers).

Had forgotten all about Diablo since season 3.  Guess I should check it out again.

Currently playing a lot of Fallout 4, but that will most likely stop as No Man's Sky is coming out this week. I have the disk and would be playing ,but the day one patch adds a lot of stuff.

I would jump in and play some Diablo with you guys but I feel like I'm using you. I play for a couple days, get my fix, and you don't see me again. Thanks for the last seasons help by the way  :D

Yeah, No Man's looked interesting too.  Didn't realize it was also for PC until I just again Googled it ::) (have xbox not ps).  Knowing that, it may be my next purchase.  Seems to be a bit of a 64bit competitor to SC.

Just been playing ARK on pvp servers with some friends mostly. Been checking out the primitive plus mod, which is pretty neat.

I bought, and returned No Man's Sky. It didn't live up to the promises made by the devs.

It's shallow, and there's just not much game there.

Seems like NMS had the potential to be something so much more but fell way short of that mark.  Sure looking forward to a fully explore-able SC.  NMS is like a very small peek at what may be possible but makes me wonder how SC intends to implement flora and fauna.  Procedural worlds are nice and all, but if the flora and fauna don't make sense it will kind of ruin the experience.

Trees, oceans, rivers, lakes, brush, and grass have all been confirmed. Not on every planet of course. But those that have been, or are undergoing terraforming.

I do like how NMS implemented ground-based mining (the shooting part, not so much the structures/pillars themselves) and hope the mining in SC gives as much 'destructive' enjoyment.

Hopefully the SC staff are looking at NMS and seeing what they can do to make exploration a bit less bland.  I think with NMS we can all see the vastness of everything and how difficult it will be to fill it properly.  But I really hope their flora and fauna make sense.  Huge herbivores running around on a desolate, rocky planet just don't cut it for me.  Granted, NMS did not take itself seriously in that considering the random mishmash of body parts, but all the same, it just doesn't cut it.

Sounds too need to make sense.  Listening to whale songs on every planet surface is ... lame.  No wind howling, no sound of minor rockfalls, or whatever, c'mon.

I also wonder if it is possible to make each world a bit more varied than the ones seen in NMS or if each planet is going to be basically homogeneous (i.e. the once you've seen a square mile, you've seen the whole planet kind of boring).

Anyway NMS was a good start in my opinion.  Not a great game, but a good start on universe-sized games.

Well, the procedural generation is going to be used for cities, asteroid belts, placing flora, and large mountain ranges, mostly.

Since SC is artist curated on a large scale (not entirely Procedural) then they have the ability to tailor make each planet. NMS problem was they had a very small number of lego bricks, and used all of them up in the first 10-20 planets. Everything else is just color pallet swaps.

I too have been playing some Diablo Season 7 and having a blast. Got a Barb just over 70. 3305's Ark Primitive+ server is going now too, I'll be checking that out more and more over the next few weeks. Looks like a fun change, especially with some increases to XP/Gather/Tame.

NMS looked great to me, I've put it on my wishlist... but I just can't justify full price for what's been delivered vs. what was propositioned. Hopefully the ground work has been laid and it's potential is realized by the devs... assuming they don't try to turn it into a cash and dash.

Well, I'm off to the barcade tonight! I'm still hopping into Rocket League every other night, feel free to join me!

Glad to see ya still playing Stardew, LS! It really is a great game. I've been enjoying some Starbound lately too. I got Terarria and played that for awhile but the theme of Starbound won me over. I've heard and can see the arguments on both sides as people tend to choose one over the other. Starbound's release reminds me a bit of the NMS debates that are going on now... but it's still an ambitious game with hundreds of hours of fun to be had. Having a 6 year old son has made me play a lot of games lately that I might not have. It's funny how popular the 8/16-bit art has become....

I've been playing on a PvPvE Prim+ server with 5-6 friends for a bit now and its pretty fun. While the server is pvp we haven't had much problems with people, as the server seems pretty relaxed. Just finished the structure for a treehouse I built - now I just gotta put stuff in it! :P

If any of yall are interested in checking it out in a "light" pvp setting (meaning not super heavy pvp focus server) let me know and I can guide you to us.

We're also looking at the possibility of making a private password protected server and creating a table top style environment for ark. We were looking at the idea of creating a few different tribes (or "houses") with different agendas or goals, and having the admin act as a DM if you will. Each tribe can have their own backstory, and focus etc. The admin create their own structures and make "dungeons" for the players to explore or have contests, or whatever the situation calls for. The idea is still in its infancy but we're still trying to gather more people. Thats why we actually checked out Prim + (the server we're on now) to see if it might fit a little better with what our ideas are.
